About Well Director

Our story

Well Director grew out of a problem every geosteering team knows well. A geologist watches the gamma ray come in, then scrolls up and down offset logs, again and again, looking for the pattern that lines up. It’s skilled work, but much of it is searching rather than thinking.

Matching a gamma ray log to offset wells is one of the most repeated tasks in geosteering, and it’s still mostly done by hand. Well Director was built to change that. You upload your WDR data and run a geosteering operation, and the software finds the gamma ray match automatically and predicts the stratigraphy as it goes. Geologists get a clear picture of where the well sits in the formation and can put their attention on the decisions that need their expertise.

We work with operators and geosteering teams who want to drill better wells with less time spent scrolling logs, and we build Well Director alongside the geologists who use it every day.
